March Highlights

Things got rather busy for us this month – usually this would have been as the weather turned, but our first outing of the month was up to snowy Solihull for a rather wintry 21st Birthday party!

Next stop was one to tick off of the list of must-play London venues – The V&A Museum in Kensington! We were excited for this one and it was a lot of fun getting to explore after dark…

Next up, a rather chilly and wet trip down the Thames for the duo, accompanying The  Cambridge Chinese Students and Scholars Association reunion. It’s always fun trying not to drop all the equipment in the water whilst boarding, but thankfully neither of us suffer on the waves and we got to enjoy the party!

Another London institution was ticked off the list the next day as we got to perform at Claridge’s in Mayfair for the UCL Law Easter Ball – these guys really know how to party, and we also had a little look around the rest of the hotel – truly one of the classiest establishments we have had the pleasure to perform in!

We enjoyed a relaxing Mother’s Day recovering from a busy week at The Drayton Court hotel in Ealing – lovely staff, guests and food ensured a satisfying Sunday afternoon for us.

A few days later we were back at Farbridge near Chichester and braving the chilly spring sunshine for our first outdoor performance of the year! We ended up chasing the sunshine around a little and could only last for a single set before retreating indoors to warm up though!

Later in the month we had a glimpse inside one of London’s gentlemen’s clubs – Brook’s on St James St. We’re not too sure where they stand on having a female drummer in the house(!), but the wedding guests were happy to be greeted with some vintage music as they arrived.

We rounded off the month with a return visit to the King’s Cross Canopy Market on Good Friday. We had a lovely afternoon looking around the market, but it was again a rather wet, cold and windy March afternoon, which we only just survived due to some very cold fingers. hopefully the sun will have arrived for our next visit on 20th April.
